We have a theme challenge for you this week at Time Out - and this week, we are focusing on those 'sometimes difficult' Masculine Cards. In addition to making them masculine, we would also love to see some mixed media cards in the gallery so we are doing an optional twist of mixed media.
We have a great sponsor for this challenge:
Shery from Stamplorations has very generously agreed to provide the winner with a $15 gift voucher AND provide a random entry from the cards that feature the optional twist (mixed media) with a Artplorations stencil!!!
We are very lucky to have wonderful guest designers join us at Time Out, and this week is no exception - Patti from Stationery Styles has some amazing cards featured on her blog so please stop by for a visit.
Here is my masculine card for the week - what could be more masculine than wood grain and metal?! Just like being in the workshop!
This full cover plate die from Memory Box is one of my favourites (I also have the Christmas version!). I die cut a piece of white cardstock which I then embossed with a wood grain tPTI texture plate. I then used the same die to cut the words from sheets of foil cardstock (gold, silver, and copper) - and inlaid the words into the white panel. I love the way this one turned out :)
So make sure you join us for this fabulous challenge - we can't wait to see your masculine cards with or without the mixed media twist!
Thanks for stopping by!
Jill

ReplyDeleteI love the card! Is that a retired die? I've looked all over and can't find it. Thanks, Glenda
ReplyDeleteHi Glenda - I just checked and the die is still available at Simon Says Stamp - it's called Memory Box Happy Birthday Background die. They used to carry the Merry Christmas and Thank You versions as well - but I don't see those ones so this series may be on the way out (unfortunately!)
DeleteThank you--I just ordered it. I was glad to discover your blog.
DeleteI love this card. I found the die on eBay. Wish I could also find the Christmas die also.
