The first card I am sharing is my entry for the Card Concept Challenge who shared this absolutely gorgeous inspiration Photo:
I love the gorgeous colours of the butterflies accented by the white outlines - here is my interpretation:
I used some Peerless water colours to create the background splotches of colours. I used a memory box die cut called Fairyland Butterflies and coated it in clear Wink of Stella (which didn't show up in the photo). I adhered the die cut with clear foam adhesive to make it appear to be floating above the splotches of colours. The greeting is from Altenew. Here is a side view to illustrate the dimension:
I will link this card to a couple of places:
- The Card Concept who provided the awesome inspiration photo
- Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge because I love watercolouring!
- Fusion Card Challenge who had this beautiful inspiration photo:
The second card that I have to share is for one of my favourite challenges TIME OUT. This week, we are being inspired by words:
"Happy Is The Bride The Sun Shines On"
I chose to focus on the key words "Happy" and "Sun" and came up with this:
I used two colours of pigment ink to create the sun using the Simon Says Watts Up stamp set which I clear embossed. The cloudy background was created using the Simon Says Stamp Create a Scene stencils and some Tumbled Glass Distress Inks. The two greetings are from the Simon Says Sparkle and Shine stamp set. I finished off the card with some silver thread and a Tim Holtz embossed background. Here is a close up of the greetings:
I will link up to TIME OUT
Thanks do much for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteOh Jill! Those butterflies are drop dead gorgeous! What a rainbow of color! Drooling here!
ReplyDeleteYour butterfly card is really adorable! I always avoid cutting tiny parts of foam tape and gluing it to delicate cut outs, but in this case I think it was totally worth it and you might just have me inspired to invest more time in playing with itty bitty sticky tapes ;o) Happy crafting, Maike
