Happy Valentines's Day!
It's time for another challenge at AAA Cards and this week we are challenging people to use sequins on their projects:
We have a great sponsor for this challenge as well: Happy Little Stampers is offering a $20 gift certificate to the winner of the challenge- how amazing is that?!
For my card, I decided to use sequins as raindrops.
I started out by stamping the Studio Calico umbrellas across the card and masking them using a Molotow masking pen. I then watercoloured the blue background (it is much more vibrant in real life), removed the masking fluid and coloured the umbrellas with Copics. Finishing touches were the sequins (cherry picked from a couple of mixes) and the greeting from the same stamp set.
When a make a more "complicated" card, I always make two because I am worried about messing it up half way through. This time, I didn't mess up so I ended up with two cards - the only difference between them is the shade of blue for the sky and the greetings.
I will link up a couple of places:
- Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - looking for one layer cards
- Less Is More - include a stem (umbrella stems!!!!!)
- Simon Says Stamp Work It Wednesday - use something new (stamps, masking pen)
So now it's your turn to join in the fun and play along at AAA Cards!
Thanks for stopping by!
Jill

ReplyDeleteOh Jill, this is so clever - you took the challenge right out of the box by using sequins for raindrops. What fabulous umbrellas colored superbly. Your sky is gorgeous too. Yes, it was 2 degrees when I awoke yesterday at the Jersey shore. Snow is falling now, but it is supposed to be 50 tomorrow. I feel like everyone will just be sick until spring really comes! My sheep are from MFT - Ewe Are he Best. So is the plaid paper. Very springy!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove those happy umbrellas and your sequin rain!
