We are being sponsored by the wonderful Happy Little Stampers who are offering a $15 gift voucher to a random entry who includes the optional twist in their entry; the optional twist this fortnight is including a distressing technique in your card.
Our Guest Designer this week is Sue from Sue's Card Craft - she has gorgeous cards so make sure you stop by her blog to check them out.
Here is my take on the challenge:
I created a one layer card for this challenge. I used some torn paper to create a mask on the card and then I used some Distress Inks to add some blended colour. I then splattered some water over the panel to create the water spots and stamped some Hero Arts wild flower silhouettes over the blended area. The greeting is from Clearly Besotted.
Here is another card that I made with the same technique - but I made it into a panel instead and popped it up (because I got some inky fingerprints on my card ;) )
We can't wait to see your cards - so make sure you take some TIME OUT to play along :)
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Jill

ReplyDeleteTwo absolutely beautiful and soothing cards!
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards, Jill. Gorgeous inking and colours x
ReplyDeleteYour distress sponging is superb and I really like the torn edge look. I especially like the colour of the second one (naturally, purple there!) and glad to see you hide you mistakes...I do this all the time!
ReplyDeleteIt cracks me up when our cards turn out to be similar... I love the tearing - a beautiful effect. The ink colors are gorgeous blended together. LOVE the silhouette flowers!!!! xxx
ReplyDeleteTwo fantastic cards, Jill! Using the torn edge for mask was a brilliant idea and I love the colors in your ink blending. Such a perfect background for your beautiful flower silhouettes. Nature elements work super well for sympathy cards. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThese are both beautiful, Jill ... the depth of colour in the blending is stunning ... those silhouette blooms are gorgeous against it! Hugs, Anita :)
