The first
card was created by ink blending a sunset across a section of the card panel. I
used the die from the kit to create a mask for the setting sun. Once the strip
was ink blended, I stamped the silhouette animals in black to create a scene – separating
the lion from the herbivores, of course! After it was stamped, I did spritz the
scene with some shimmer spray (which doesn’t show in the picture) and added the
greeting from the set just above the scene. Hakuna Matata means “no worries” in
Swahili 😊 I added the card panel to an orange
card base – I saw someone do this on Instagram and I loved how it looked.
For my
second card, I started by stamping the same animals from the first cards randomly
in some light ink colours to cover the entire panel. I then die cut a heart
from the panel and the baby blue card base to create a peak through card with
some blue vellum BUT as I was making it, I decided it might look fun as a
shaker so I added some foam and some sequins as well.
Here is a look at the shaker from the inside:
I added the
silver glitter stacked die cut baby (from Studio Calico) to the front of the
card to finish it off.
I will enter these cards into:
- Twofer Challenge - Zoo Animals
- CASology - Africa
- SimonSays Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

ReplyDeleteJill, your two designs are fantastic! You really rocked the African scene with your first card! Beautiful blending and I love the surprise of the monkey, lol! You did a brilliant job of making your own DSP for your second design and I love that you went the extra mile and turned it into a shaker card for the baby!!
