We have a great TIME OUT challenge for you this week - we are asking you to create a project based on the following words:
'Friends are connected heart to heart, distance and time can't break them apart'
Wonderful words and so many ways they can be interpreted - I can't wait to the wonderful creations in the gallery... and speaking of wonderful creations, make your you check out the great designs of Jane from Purplejet Loves Crafts - we are very lucky to have her Guest Designing with us this week.
We have an incredible sponsor this week too - CAS-ual Fridays is offering a $25 gift voucher to the challenge winner...
In addition to giving the winner a prize, they also supplied the DT with products to use for this challenge - I chose the Heart Board Fri-dies and I absolutely loved playing with it. I ended up creating 3 different cards with it - and I still have a ton of ideas on more ways to use it. Definitely a new fave :)
Here is card #1:
(I usually don't make them so big but it was hard to capture the foil and the sentiment)
This card was fairly straightforward - I die cut the heart from some red and silver foil card stock - which I inlaid into the card panel. I also cut the arrow from some black card stock and inlaid that as well. The greeting is from an old Studio Calico card kit - but it worked perfectly in the arrow so I went with it in white heat embossing (don't you love it when that happens!). I did pop up the panel with some fun foam to add a little bit of dimension..... V-Day card for Michael is done :)
Card #2:
I was inspired by another greeting in that Studio Calico kit to make a multi-coloured inlaid heart. I watercoloured the die cuts with Distress inks. I also inlaid the arrows and stamped the greeting in the bottom corner.
Card #3:
This card probably reflects the inspirational words the best - especially since I made it for a good friend in Montreal to wish her well in an upcoming surgery. I used a Stamplorations stencil and some embossing paste an the card base to add a little bit of texture and then I added the leftover watercoloured hearts popped up with some foam squares. The stamped greeting is also from CAS-ual Fridays.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
