AAA #63 - CAS Shaker Card

It's another challenge at AAA Cards and this fortnight we are looking for CAS Shaker Cards:

As well as the 1st place prize prize from our sponsor we're also offering the winner the chance to be a Guest Designer for a future AAA Cards Challenge.

Our sponsor this week is:

Stampendous

And here is my take on the challenge:

My love of margaritas forced me to buy this Avery Elle margarita shaker die :) I cut it once from white cardstock and sponged some Hickory Smoke and Blueprint Sketch on it and then again from fun foam to create the dimension for the shaker.

The background was created by smooshing some Twisted Citron and Squeezed Lemonade onto a piece of watercolour paper. I then used the Simon Says Tiny Dots stencil and some embossing paste - and some glitter - to create the "salt".

I added the margarita glass to the card front and filled it with some yellow and green sequins - and stamped the Reverse Confetti greeting across the bottom.

So now it's your turn to join us and have some fun!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

TIME OUT #55 - Celebration

We have a new challenge for you at TIME OUT - this week it is a theme challenge and it is all about Celebrations! We are also challenging you to incorporate either die cutting or fussy cutting into your design. If you do, your card will be entered into a random drawing for a $25 gift voucher from CASual Fridays!!!!

We also have a great guest designer with us this week - we are very lucky to have Elizabeth from Paper Sweetness join us!

Here is what I came up with to celebrate:

I used my Crazy Birds and Crazy Things stamps and my Copics to create the bird and balloons - which I die cut (bird) and fussy cut (hat and balloons). I used some embossing paste and a brick stencil to create the background - then I stamped the Your Next Stamp greeting across the bottom. The bird and balloons are popped up with foam squares.

I made a second card using some brighter colours - and I tinted my embossing paste to match the Simon Says Fog card base. I think these colours are a little bit more masculine for a guy-card!

So take some TIME OUT and join our celebration challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

TIME OUT#54 - Reminder

There's still time to play along with the  TIME OUT photo inspiration challenge - so many ways to be inspired by these fun colours:

We are also very lucky this week to have a wonderful sponsor - Happy Little Stampers is offering the winner a $15 gift voucher!!!!!!

And we have a wonderful guest designer, Elisabeth has some amazing inspiration to share so make you stop by her blog.

And here is my card:

Once again, I was inspired by the bold and bright floral paint on the cabinet so that is what I went with. I stamped and masked the Ellen Hutson Mondo Magnolia three times in black Versafine onto some watercolour paper before heat embossing with clear powder. Then I played with my Brushos  - I "painted" each flower with clean water and then sprinkled in some Brushos. I allowed them to air dry so there was a fair amount of blending that happened naturally but it still created the imperfect look that I was aiming for. The greeting is a SSS die cut - layered 4 times and coated in Glossy Accents.

So now it's your turn to be inspired and take some TIME OUT to join the fun!

AAA Cards #62 - Anything Goes

It's another challenge at AAA Cards and this fortnight - Anything Goes!

We have an amazing sponsor for this challenge - Happy Little Stampers has very generously offered a $20 gift voucher to their store!!!!!

And here's my card:

The story behind this card is that I made the panel well over a year ago and I can't quite remember all the details - it has been sitting beside my craft desk all this time waiting to be completed and I finally did it! The stamp is by Dina Wakely and the stencil (for the embossing paste across the bottom) is from Dyan Reaveley. I think that I used Inktense pencils for the watercolouring but I am 100% sure of it. To complete the card, I trimmed down the panel and added the white embossed sentiment (W plus 9) to it. I then used a little bit of patterned paper and a strip of glitter tape to the card base before popping the card panel on top. So easy - I can't believe it too me so long to do it!

So now it's your turn to play along and link up your CAS creation to AAA Cards!

Thanks for stopping by!

And here is my card:

I was inspired by the bold and bright floral paint on the cabinet so that is what I went with. Altenew's Hennah Elements flowers were masked and stamped across the bottom of the card. I coloured them with some bright Copic colours. I then masked the flowers and sponged some Tumbled Glass ink onto the background - I laid down my Memory Box Scraped Paint stencil and sponged another of ink. The greeting is from Simon Says Stamp - Happy and Smile.

When I am going to be Copic colouring, I always stamp two cards just in case I mess one up. I left the background on the second card white.
