TIME OUT #108 - Wild

This fortnight at TIME OUT, we are challenging you to show us your wild side :)

Our sponsor for this challenge is one of my favourite companies, Winnie & Walter - they are giving the challenge winner a $25 gift voucher!!!

For my card, I was inspired to use our sponsor Winnie & Walter's Party On stamp set - what could be more wild than music playing animals?! Lots of masking, copic colouring, more masking, and ink blending were done to create this scene:

The rest of the DT have also used some Winnie & Walter products to create some Wild and wonderful cards so make sure you check them out - as well as our incredible Guest Designer for this challenge: Darnell from djkardKreations  is joining us (yay!!!). Darnell is so well known - not only for gorgeous cards but equally for her positivity and enthusiasm - I am absolutely thrilled that she is joining us for this challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

TIME OUT #107 - Spring

We have another challenge for you at TIME OUT - we are looking for Spring themed cards with an optional twist of doing a one-layer card.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Uniko Stamps - they are offering an in-stock stamp set to a random entry that does the one-layer twist. They have so many great stamp sets - like the one I used for my card: English Country Garden Butterflies.

I stamped the large butterfly from the set repeatedly across the water colour paper in Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed them with a clear powder. I then loosely watercoloured the butterflies using Brushos - I ended up going in rainbow order but that wasn't really planned - it just happened that way. I wanted a very simple greeting so I found this old Studio Calico one in my stash that seemed to work.

Our guest designer this week is Kimberly from Wienerhoneymooners so stop by her blog and check out her wonderful cards.

Thanks for stopping by!

TIME OUT #106 - Photo Inspiration

We have another great challenge at TIME OUT - a Home Sweet Home photo challenge that has me thinking of Spring:

Lots of elements to be inspired by in this photo - those gorgeous yellow blooms, the fresh lemons, the pattern on the vase, and so much more.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Altenew - they are generously giving a $20 gift voucher to the challenge winner - and this photo made me think of one of my Altenew stamp sets, Extra Special. Here is what I came up with:

I stamped the Extra Special bloom in layers of yellow and green Altenew inks, and then fussy cut it. I added some texture paste to the card base through a Tim Holtz stencil and I created a hexagon frame using some Spellbinders nesting dies. The greeting is from the Altenew Birthday Builder stamp set.

Our Guest Designer this week is the incredible Sarah from Funky Fossil - not only is she an amazing card designer (and former TO DT) but she has also designed the most amazing stencils. You really need to check out her designs.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

TIME OUT #105 - 4th Birthday

I am so excited to be celebrating the TIME OUT 4th Birthday with the rest of the team. I am so lucky to be part of this wonderful team with this group of incredibly talented designers - the challenges are amazing and we are truly blessed to have Sandie as our leader.

Our challenge this week is very appropriate - we are looking for cards inspired by these words:

We have an amazing sponsor for our Birthday challenge - Concord & 9th - not only are they offering a very generous $25 gift voucher to the challenge winner but they also gave each of the DT a gift voucher so we all made cards with their fabulous and inventive products.

I used Hi There Bear to create this card:

I couldn't resist making more cards - so I also made these cards using the Everyday Tintables Card Pack with the Hooray die.

The rest of the DT has some amazing Birthday cards using fabulous Concord & 9th products so make sure you check that out - along with our wonderful Guest Designer - Claire from Life on the Scrap Heap- her cards are always so beautiful.

We would be so happy if you took some TIME OUT to celebrate 4 years along with us!
Thanks for stopping by!

TIME OUT #104 - Be Bold

There is still some time to play along with the current TIME OUT challenge:

Our challenge this week is sponsored by Poppystamps - they are very generously offering a $20 gift voucher to the winner of the challenge :)

Here is my bold card:

I chose a bold colour scheme (Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch), a bold triangle pattern, and a bold sentiment.

Make sure to check out how the rest of the design team were inspired to be bold - along with our very talented guest designer, Marieke - you are sure to find some inspiration - nd then take some TIME OUT to join us!

Thanks for stopping by!

Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash - Card #6 & #7

The last two cards that I am sharing for Winnie and Walter's Birthday Bash:

Here is the first one:

For this card, I started by die cutting the Polaroid frame (this die is an older one from MFT). I stamped a Happy Dance animal onto each of the four squares and coloured them with Copics. I also added a caption from Bubble Talk onto each of the die cuts. Each of the die cuts was mounted with foam tape onto a card base sponged with some Distress Ink, and then I added the stacked up Celebrate (The Big, the Bold and the Party cutaways) cut from glittery cardstock on top.

I will enter this card into the following challenges:
My final card is for the Comeback Challenge - and was inspired by this card from Lydia:

I loved the way Lydia had stacked the inspirational sentiments from Bubble Talk so I replicated the design. I stamped the solid speech bubbles onto the back side of vellum using Archival ink, and I white heat-embossed the sentiments on the front side of the vellum. I then added some Stick-It to the back side and fussy cut out the speech bubbles to create vellum stickers that I layered up the card - except for the "Hey Girl" speech bubble which was popped up.

I will enter this card into the following challenge:

Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash - Cards #4 & #5

A couple more card that I created for Winnie & Walter's Birthday Bash:

Here is the first card:

I created this card for the watercolour challenge where the challenge was to use both water colouring and another colouring medium. I stamped the background Into The Woods using some Distress Inks and then I water coloured them out to create a water coloured background. I framed the background using a frame created with the Audrey Cutaways die. I stamped the bear and bunny image from Sweet Holiday onto some Neenah 80# paper, coloured with Copics, and then fussy cut out before adhering to the card front with some foam tape. The greeting is from Sentimental: Winter and is white heat embossed onto a black strip.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Here is the second card:

This is the card that I made for the die cutting challenge - although I didn't necessarily use them in a traditional way ;)  I started out by die cutting The Leaf Effect Cutaway into some freezer paper and then ironed on the freezer paper onto some watercolour paper (using my Minc which made it ridiculously easy). I watercoloured over the freezer paper using pearlescent watercolours before removing the die cut mask to reveal the design. I then die cut the In A Word Hugs from white cardstock and silver glitter cardstock. I stacked them and adhered them to the from of the card. The shimmer of the paint is so pretty in real life with the glittery silver - I tried to capture it in a close up:
