TIME OUT #132 - Photo Inspiration

We are back at TIME OUT this week with my favourite type of challenge - a Home Sweet Home photo challenge - and this one is very inspirational:

Estimated Shipping is 2-3 weeks. Add drama to any room with these beautiful statement pieces. Vintage butterfly prints and high quality gold frame. Made in the

So - I saw that split butterfly picture and I immediately thought of doing a gatefold card (which I have never done!) - her it is from the front:

To make the card, I used my Misti to stamp half the giant (discontinued) Tattered Angels butterfly on each end of a 4.25" x 11" panel. I then watercoloured the butterfly using shimmery watercolours. I then scored the panel at the two fold points (and you can see where I scored in the wrong place in the photo!)

And here is a view of the inside of the card where I also added a watercoloured panel with a gold embossed greeting from the Altenew Halftone Thanks set. I used this same set to gold emboss the greeting on the black belly band that I created to close the card.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Altenew - they are giving the winner a $20 gift voucher :)

Our wonderful guest designer for this challenge is Bobby from Bits and Pieces; Bobby is regular TIME OUT player and has guest designed with us in the past - we are so thrilled to have her join us again this week :)|

  1. Gosh I have no idea how to make a fold card but this sure looks amazing-a card full of drama. Adore the grunge look of this butterfly and love the dramatic look of how you coloured it. And what a difference to the soft colours at the centre. Just love it Jill x

  3. Lovely card. I love how you used a gate fold...I haven't thought about that technique in a while. Your butterfly is so pretty, as is the inside of your card.
