TIME OUT #50 - Home Sweet Home Reminder

If you haven't played along with our current  Time Out Home Sweet Home challenge yet, you still have time to create something inspired by this gorgeous picture:

We also have a great guest designer with us again this week, Cornelia from Stempel Spass always has fun and creative designs to share so I highly recommend stopping by her blog.

Here's is my card:

To create this card, I used the negative die cuts from the MFT Flutter of Butterflies to create stencils. I used Hickory Smoke Distress Ink to sponge in the butterflies and then used HA Newspaper Background stamp to add the print. I die cut the W&W Thanks and used some Be Creative tape to add teal glitter to the negative space. I finished it off with a few glittery pearls....

Thanks so much for stopping by!

TIME OUT #50 - Home Sweet Home

This week's challenge at Time Out is a Home Sweet Home challenge inspired by another one of Sandie's fabulous pictures:

We also have a great guest designer with us this week, Cornelia from Stempel Spass always has fun and creative designs to share so I highly recommend stopping by her blog.

Here's how I was inspired:

My eyes were immediately drawn to all the travel destination references in the picture, and I thought of this Happy Travels stamp set from Clearly Besotted. I created a sunset on a piece of cardstock using Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade. I then cut the cardstock into smaller pieces using my paper trimmer, and stamped the images using Versfine Onyx ink. I carefully lined them up and glued them to the card base and stamped the greeting in the open space.

So please join us and create something inspired by the Home Sweet Home picture.

Thanks for stopping by!

AAA Cards #59 - Sequins

Happy Valentines's Day!

It's time for another challenge at AAA Cards and this week we are challenging people to use sequins on their projects:

We have a great sponsor for this challenge as well: Happy Little Stampers is offering a $20 gift certificate to the winner of the challenge- how amazing is that?!

We Ship Worldwide

For my card, I decided to use sequins as raindrops.

I started out by stamping the Studio Calico umbrellas across the card and masking them using a Molotow masking pen. I then watercoloured the blue background (it is much more vibrant in real life), removed the masking fluid and coloured the umbrellas with Copics. Finishing touches were the sequins (cherry picked from a couple of mixes) and the greeting from the same stamp set.

When a make a more "complicated" card, I always make two because I am worried about messing it up half way through. This time, I didn't mess up so I ended up with two cards - the only difference between them is the shade of blue for the sky and the greetings.

I will link up a couple of places:

So now it's your turn to join in the fun and play along at AAA Cards!

TIME OUT #49 - Inspired By Words

I can't believe that it is already time for another Time Out challenge already - 2016 is flying by! This week we have another great challenge - we are asking you ti be inspired by the following words:

Love is the flower you've got to let grow' (John Lennon)

We also have a great Guest Designer with us this week - Valentyna is always a source of great inspiration so make sure you check out her blog Flourishtina.

So here is my card:

I thought this flower-filled heart die from Impression Obsession perfectly captured the spirit of the quote, and I decided to colour it with Copic markers in bright colours because - well John Lennon, flower power, it seemed appropriate :)

I inlaid the coloured die cut into the card front and used some scor-tape to add glitter to the voids. I finished it off with some black enamel dots, some silver heart sequins, and a stacked up Lil Inkers die cut. The whole panel was popped up on the card base with some fun foam.

I will link up to a couple of places:
Thanks so much for stopping by and make sure you take some Time Out to join us!
