Quick Share - Baby Card

Just a quick share today a card that I made on the weekend using some of the goodies that I recently picked up from the Concord & 9th mega sale. I had my eye on this Furry Friends stamp and die set for quite a while so I was very happy when it arrived in the post.

I wanted to fit as many critter heads as possible onto the card so I used a long card base and envelope that I had in my stash from an old Studio Calico card kit (measurement is 4 x 9 1/4 in case you were wondering). The frames were all die cut three times from heavyweight cardstock and glued together and the critters were popped up with foam tape. The greeting is from MFT.

I will link my card to the following challenges:

TIME OUT #158 Purple

We have a very special challenge this fortnight at TIME OUT, we are recognizing Epilepsy Awareness by asking you to create projects that feature the colour purple. You can read more about the significance of the colour purple on our main blog.

Our sponsor for this challenge is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps- they are offering a $25 gift voucher to a random entry that includes a friendship theme (our optional twist for the challenge).

For my card this week, I decided to go with a lot of purple. I used a purple card panel and used the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Peaceful Garden leaves to stamp across the bottom in various shades of purple. I stamped the last layer in white pigment ink and then brushed on some Perfect Pearls when the ink was stil wet to give it some shimmer.Unfortunately, the colours really faded 24 hours after I stamped them (I don't usually stamp on coloured card stock so this took me by surprise) so you can barely see the lightest layer of leaves now and it is overall a little bit more washed out than I was hoping for. Next time, I will definitely start with darker ink colours!

Our guest designer for this challenge is Kavya so make sure you stop by and check out her blog.

TIME OUT #157 - Birthday Theme

I can't believe TIME OUT is celebrating 6 years! I have been with the team for five years now - and that time has just flown by! Our challenge this week is all about birthdays:

Our sponsor for this challenge is Stamplorations, very appropriate since they have supported TIME OUT since the beginning :) Stamplorations is giving a $40 gift voucher to one of the random entries in this challenge who include die cutting or fussy cutting as part of their design.

For my card, I decided to do both die cutting and fussy cutting using the Bloomtangled #1 Cover Plate Die (side note - I just love the Bloomtangled series of stamps and dies). I die cut the panel twice from plain white cardstock and then carefully cutaway the top part of the design. I coloured one of the cut panels with Copics and then laid the second cut panel on top to create an inlaid die cut effect. I mounted the panel onto a kraft card base that I had already added gold foil pressed Birthday sentiment.

Our guest designer for this challenge is Christine from Experiments in Craft - make sure you check out her fabulous designs.

Thanks so much for stopping by and take some TIME OUT to celebrate with us!
