TIME OUT #62 - Photo Inspiration

It is time for another Time Out Challenge - and this week, it is my favourite type of challenge - a Home Sweet Home Photo Inspiration Challenge - and as usual, Sandie has chosen a gorgeous photo for us:

So what do you see in this photo? Lots of gorgeous elements to choose from - I know I had a hard time choosing what to focus on...

We have a wonderful guest designer with us this week, Stephanie from My Ink Well is a good friend and enormous talent so make sure you stop by to see how she was inspired.

And here is how I was inspired:

I really liked to the picture with the letters - it reminded me a little bit of an eye chart which made me think of this stamp set from MFT. It was stamped simply in Versafine Onyx Black ink (I thought about doing some red letters but ultimately decided not to). I die cut the rectangle and framed it with some black cardstock. The background was created with some MFT glasses die cuts adhered to the card base - this is one of my favourite techniques - I love the tone-on-tone effect :)

So how will you be inspired? Take some Time Out to join us for this really fun challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!
Jill

  1. I do like this sentiment stamp; because english isn't my first language I had to look closer to read it :)
And with that diecuts-BG it looks so perfectly CAS and perfect for a guy! It doesn't need the red at all! Hugs, Gerrina

  2. I am so CASEing this design! I love it. I love the tone on tone background you made with the eye glasses--adds so much interest without distracting from your focal panel. Love the eye chart sentiment--I have something similar, and can't wait to give this a try.

  3. This is amazing Jill. Do you die cut the eye glasses and layer them up and if so how do you make it look so even? It looks like an embossed panel to me...would love to get some tips as I love how smooth it looks. And such a creative take on the photo, what a cool stamp and I like it just black and white. Plus thanks for your lovely comment on my card today.

  6. Jill!!! Thanks for the wonderful shout out. This card is FANTASTIC! I can totally see the eye chart in my mind's eye from the inspiration. You took it and ran. Love the die cut glasses on the card base. Are they glued on or did you emboss them somehow?? Thanks for THIS wonderful inspiration and for having me as GD for this challenge.
