TIME OUT #64 - CASEing Julia

We have a new challenge this week at TIME OUT - and it is a great one - we are CASE-ing the incredible Julia Alterman from Just One More Card. I am big fan of Julia's work and her excellent YouTube videos and am just thrilled to be CASE-ing her this week. Here is here creation:

What a fun and vibrant card! There are so many great elements that could be CASE-d......

We also have a talented guest designer with us this week - Jenny from Craftmosh is a good crafty friend and very talented card maker so make sure you stop by her blog to check out her creations - you will definitely be inspired!

So here is how I was inspired by Julia's card:

I absolutely fell in love with the diagonal striped frame around the main image so that was my starting point. I went through my (masses of!) patterned paper looking for diagonal stripes and came across this rainbow one which caught my eye. I die cut the frame from this paper using two Walter and Winnie dies. I die cut the MFT soda bottles from some Tim Holtz watercolour paper and then coloured them with different colours of Distress Inks (I tried to match the colours on the bottles to the stripes they were next to) - I added water splatters and ink splatters to the bottles to create the illusion of fizzy drinks. I used some Hickory Smoke ink to watercolour the background onto another piece of Tim Holtz watercolour cardstock and then stamped the MFT greeting. The bottles were adhered directly to the background but the frame was popped up with foam tape.

I did another card using the same supplies - actually, this was my first card but as I was making it, I kept thinking of things that I should have done differently so I made it again! Lucky that I had another piece of patterned paper!

Be sure to join us for this challenge - there are so many great elements in Julia's card to CASE - I am looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!

I will link up to a few challenges:
Thanks for stopping by!

Jill
