TIME OUT #74 - Winter Theme

Happy New Year!

We have a great challenge to start the new year at TIME OUT - we are looking for Winter themed card - with an optional twist of using white-on-white.

Our very generous sponsor is Uniko Studios - they are offering a gift voucher to a random entry who creates a card with the optional twist.

We have a very talented guest designer with us this week too - Claire from Life on the Scrap Heap is joining us again to share some of amazing creativity! Her cards are just gorgeous so make sure you check them out.

Here is what I came up with for the challenge:

Since this is my first card of the new year, I thought that it was very fitting that it embraces one of my Crafty New Year's Resolutions - to finish all my unfinished cards! This card was started at some point in 2015 when I applied some texture paste through a TCW snowflake stencil onto the card base and covered the wet paste with some glitter (if you zoom in on the picture, you can see it a little bit). After that, it went into my pile of unfinished cards - I really can't remember what the original plan was,....  I pulled it out again over a year later and added the greeting from the Ton stamps on a piece of grey cardstock to the front to finish it off! Fastest card I have made in a while and adhering to my resolutions :)

I am looking forward to seeing all the Winter-y creations in the gallery - so please take some TIME OUT and join us!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Fun New Year's solution! I might make that too... It's a good one! :) Love the simplicity of this and the dimension.

  2. This paste with the sparkle looks amazing...I zoomed in! Such wonderful detail, dimension and texture all in one CAS card. Great resolution x

  3. This is so gorgeous Jill. Love those glittery snowflakes, and the sentiment panel in gray is perfect. You are my glitter inspiration, though I am still afraid of it. Maybe while it is snowing today, I will cast caution to the wind and go a little glitter crazy. I really love the way you used it here.

  4. Absolutely gorgeous. All the embossing adds so much fabulous dimension.

  5. I totally forgot that I have a snowflake embossingfolder...looks so good on this card! Hope you have a fun weekend!

  6. Great resolution, and it has resulted in an amazing card. So very elegant, CAS and beautiful.

  7. Shimmery, delicate and wonderfully dimensional, Jill ... a gorgeous card ... and what a fabulous resolution! Hugs, Anita :)

  8. Stunning! Love the glittery texture and dimension you have achieved. Hugs Bev (Uniko) x
