TIME OUT #167 - Inspired BY Words

At TIME OUT, we have some fabulous inspirattional words to get your crafting mojo going this fortnight :)

Our generous sponsor for this challenge is Top Flight Stamps - they are offering the winner a $25 gift voucher to their store!!!!

I decided make another slim line card for this challenge - I am really loving playing with this size. I decided to focus on the dance party portion of the words - and I thought thescute critters from Winnie & Walter (sadly, no longer available) would make a fun scene. I used an MFT die to create the "photo frames" and coloured the critters with COpics. I ink blended the card base to add a little more colour. Some foam tape for dimension, and some sequins for sparkle and I called it done :)

We are lucky to have the talented Ashwini from Experiments in Card Making joining us this week - her creations are always so lovely.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

TIME OUT #166 - Peaceful

This fortnight at TIME OUT, we are challenging you to create a peaceful project - whatever that means to you.

Our generous sponsor for this challenge is Newton's Nook, who are generously offering the winner a $25 gift voucher :)

I find peace with hot yoga so I wanted to create a card using Stamplorations Frog Yoga. The problem I had was choosing which of the cute frogs to use on my card - so I decided to do a slimline design so that I could use three of them :) The design is very simple - I die cut three apertures in the card panel and brushed some Wild Honey Distress Ink behind the openings on the card base. The frogs were stamped and coloured using Copics and then fussy cut with a white border and adhered to the panel. I added the "namaste" sentiment from the set for a simple greeting and then used some foam tape to pop up the card panel on the base.

This stamp set has some fun greetings - so I decided to include one of them on the inside of my card - here it is:

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Senitmentally Sue - you should go and check out her work here.

TIME OUT #165 - Inspired By "Days Gone By"

For out TIME OUT challenge this fortnight, we are lookig for projects inspired by a "Days Gone By" theme. It woud be even better if the project you created included our optional twist of using embellishments.

Our sponsor for this challenge is CAS-ual Friday Stamps - they are generously offering the winner of the challenge a $25 gift voucher to their store :)

For my card, I was really inspired by the snarky sentiments in the CAS-ual Fridays stamp set Frankly'isms - there are so many that I liked and that worked with the theme but I finally decided on the one below. I paired it with a an image from MFT that I Copic coloured and fussy cut - and I embellished with some gold confetti.

In hindsight, the sentiment should have been higher up and embossed in gold instead of stamped in black - but I didn't have time to redo it....

Our guest designer for this challenge is one of very talented regular players, Claire from Life on the Scrap Heap. We are very lucky to have her joining us :)

TIME OUT #164 - Photo Inspiration

We have a great photo challenge going on right now at TIME OUT and there is still time to play along. We are asking you to be inspired by this great cake photo:

Our sponsor for this challenge is Funky Fossil Designs - who have an amazing catalogue of stencils and have recently added some fabulous stamps as well.

The winner of the challenge will recieve a £15 gift voucher to the shop :)

For the challenge, I used a Funky Fossil stencil (Circle Burst Stencil) to create two different cards - each with selective masking. For the first one, I masked part of the stencil to create a white-on-white backgound with texture paste and for the second card, I inked the different circles in various colours befors addding glitter paste over the whole stencil to create a sparkly and colourful background.

These cards were so much fun to create and I hope you also have fun creating using the inspiration from our challenge! Also, make sure to  check out our wonderful GD for this challenge, Sathya from Paperie Expressions for more inspiration.

TIMEOUT #163 - Inspired By Words

We have a fabulous challenge for you this fortnight at TIME OUT - we are asking you to create a project inspired by these words from Proust:

Our sponsor for this challenge is Stamplorations who are offering a $25 gift voucher to the winner :)

I took my inspiration from the "blossom" and "gratitude" portions of the quote. I coloured Stamplorations Dee"s Artsy Impression Blossom Spray #2 using my Altenew Artist Markers (my first time playing with them). I fussy cut the image and added it to a card base on which I had already added an Altenew die cut panel. I finshed off the card with a foiled Spellbinders greeting and a few Hero Arts sequins.

Our guest designer this week is the incredible Trina from Phamtasic Designs!

TIME OUT #162 - Free

For our TIME OUT challenge this week, we want you to express your Freedom :)

Our sponsor for this challenge is perfect for the theme - Visible Image is offering the winner a £25 gift voucher to their shop :)

Visible Imagem

I kept my project very simple this week and focused on the freedom of rock music. I tore a piece of masking paper and created a strip along the bottom half of the card - I then belnded three colours of Distress Inks (I wanted masculine colours so I went with the cool tones) into the masked area. I then too the Visible Image Play Guitar Stencil and some Viva Decor Black Modelling Paste to add the musicians into the coloured strip. This paste is messy AF but I love the finished efect of the pitch black raised guitarists. I finished of with a greeting from an older MFT stamp set. I also created a matching envelope from some green paper.

We are thrilled to be joined by Jo-Jo's Spot this week as our guest designer :)

Thanks so much for stoppign by!

TIME OUT #161 - Inspired By The Arts

Our challenge this fortnight at TIME OUT is sure to stimulate some creativity - we are looking for projects inspired by the Arts:

Our sponsor for this challenge is Birch Press Design - they are offering a $20 gift voucher to the winner of a random draw of enties who include a one-layer optional twist :)

For my card, I drew my inspiration from modern art design - I especially love clean and graphic art so I also incorporated a Mondrian colour scheme. I used the Memory Box Large Ringlets die to create an inlaid design. I cut the dsign three times from white cardstock and once from each of red, yellow and blue cardstock so that I could create three cards from this project. For each card, the inlaid design was adhered to a white panel which was trimmed to 3.75" x 5" and then popped up with foam onto a white standard A2 card base. I added a simple black sentiment strip white heat embossed with a Simon Says Stamp greeting to finish the design.

How will the arts inspire you? We can't wait to see your designs in the TIME OUT gallery :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
